As smartphones have become increasingly prevalent, members of the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ community are at the vanguard, using their talents to create mobile applications.

Students have found themselves at the helm creating amusing apps. During their freshmen year, Jordan Bradley ’16 (Interactive Arts B.F.A.) worked with fellow student Zak Crapo ’16 to create Sendasock, an app that lets others know when you want privacy in your dorm or apartment.

Bradley went on to create Pi, a visual day planner app for creative people that helps people users set manageable plans for the day without sacrificing health or wellness. During the 2016 Up/Start Venture Competition at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ, Pi won $5,000 in funding as the event's People's Choice Award winner.

It's not surprising that Bradley has been so successful. After launching Sendasock as a freshman, Bradley was chosen for a CODE2040 Fellowship as a sophomore. The award allowed him to intern at Jawbone as a front-end engineer. While there, he was tasked with re-architecting the front end of one of the company's applications to allow third parties to create apps for Jawbone fitness bands.

Today, Bradley continues to work seamlessly between design and development as he continues to refine Pi while also working fulltime as a junior UX designer for Newsela in New York City.
